Ankit Memorial Foundation was created in memory of Ankit Goyal, who we lost tragically in flash floods while returning home from camping trip at Joshua Tree National Park at the age of 28.  He was guided in life by his vast array of passions. He loved debate, music, comedy, sports and outdoor activities.

As a high schooler, Ankit fell in love with debate. He would spend countless hours researching, formulating arguments and writing speeches in his spare time while pursuing college level courses as a high school student. His hard work paid off when he won the state championship. This passion would continue to guide him throughout his life. He founded a debate team during his undergraduate studies at Walsh School of Foreign Service - Georgetown University. He later graduated with a

Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law at St. Louis. His hard work and persistence allowed him to live his dream as a practicing California attorney.

Despite his challenging career choice, Ankit never let his passion for the great outdoors waver. He never ceased to be amazed by the awe-inspiring beauty of this world. He would plan his weekends meticulously and spend every minute of daylight in these parks.

He balanced his love for the outdoors with his love for comedy and sports. He could a bring a smile to anyone’s face with his strange antics and child-like behavior. In college, he was so inspired by comedy, he performed his own stand-up. His love for sports could be heard in every room of the house as he cheered for Ferrari, Tottenham, Roger Federer and the New York Giants.

Most of all, his greatest passion was his love for others. This was seen through his numerous volunteering endeavors. As a high school student, he traveled to build houses in a rural town in Mississippi. Ankit was amazed by the happiness and resilience of the community in the face of poverty. As a college student, he understood the importance of quality education and would volunteer as a tutor to kids struggling in the D.C public education system. Ankit would continue to support education by tutoring students for LSAT and SAT in St. Louis and San Diego.

Ankit was relentless in his pursuit for his passions despite facing numerous obstacles. His compassion for people, nature and the world enabled him to live his dreams.
